Today seems like a good day to start a challenge and a blog I guess. We were talking at work and Katie, an avid blog reader, told us about a blog story that she had read about a family that only eats ribeye steaks and drinks water. That is it, just ribeye and water. How can they do that? I ate Paleo a few years ago but didn't continue for some reason. So needing motivation and a starting point to loose about 50 lbs I jumped at the opportunity to try this challenge. I am only going to eat beef and water for 2 weeks, and I will blog about it and be honest about the start and end results and issues encountered along the way.
A little bit about me, My name is Eric, I am 45 years old I am married, with 4 children from 20 to 13, and am a bit overweight. OK, I am way overweight. You know I could lose a few pounds. The government food plate/pyramid b.s. says I should weight, for my height, about 175 lbs. I hate the government. I currently weigh 241.5 as of today. I would like to get to around 200, possibly even lose 50 lbs in the next few months. I will go into my other upcoming challenges later in the blog.
The plan for the blog right now is to just get to the beginning. I need to cut out coffee and soda as drinks. I love coffee with cream and real vanilla, and the one soda that I drink, generally, every day. Foods, obviously all non beef products are gone. Fun Fact: Hey did you know that cattle that are destined to be eaten are called Beeves?
Oh, one more thing and I will move along is that I recognize that Paleo and No Carb and Low Carb are different food lifestyles. I get that. I will try to be as accurate as I can be but hey, in the end I want to lose weight and be healthy.
And remember 2 weeks with just meat and water coming up.
